You will provide support to the Director of Corporate Services and Divisional Heads within the Department in financial and business planning for the purposes of governance. This will be in reference to the Corporate Services Steering Group, the Directorate Business Improvement Plans and Directorate business as usual, by providing accurate business performance management information against delivery targets. You will be required to produce financial and business briefings, discussion and scoping papers which will include forecasting the business needs of the Directorate timeously and continually.

By facilitating financial, strategic planning, forecasting and maintaining integrity of accounting systems and records in line with directed policy and accounting conventions, you will provide regular and effective assurance.

Responsibilities
Produce management information, including financial and business briefings, discussions, scoping papers as required by the Director and Divisional Heads. Draft responses to Parliamentary Questions, FOI’s, and other Ministerial Responses. Provide the Director with regular briefings and updates on the positional statements, and to accurately plan for the delivery and implementation of costs for establishments for new policy and strategy execution.
Facilitate financial, strategic planning and forecasting while ensuring maintenance and integrity of accounting systems and records in line with directed policy and accounting conventions. This includes, support and oversight of project managers, ensuring sound governance and delivery on behalf of the Director/Directorate and ensure that internal controls are adhered to at all times. Ensure that the neccesssary records are maintained for the verification of the Financial Accounting and Management System.
Lead on the performance management of the Directorate ensuring that the organisational performance is properly measured monitored and communicated. This included monitoring actual performance against budget for the directorate, preparing financial out turn projections on a monthly basis and updating the accounting system accordingly.
Support and engage in the implementation of the Directorate’s transformational change agenda, supporting strategic change initiatives to ensure modern, efficient and effective delivery of services.
Drive efficiencies through processes which support service change and ensure that organisational change is supported through planned and sustainable ways across the Directorate.
Co-ordinate a high volume of tasks that flow through the Directors office ensuring clarity of direction is provided to team leaders and that quality work is produced on time for the Director and Functional Heads.
