The post holder will carry out a variety of tasks in support of the Administration function at HMP Shotts.
Responsibilities
Operating switchboard and passing on messages to relevant staff within HMP Shotts.
Receive, sort and distribute incoming mail. Collect, sort and bag outgoing mail. Log all legal and privileged correspondence ensuring correct recipient and area.
Inputting prisoners personal cash transactions onto PRS (Prison Records System)
Process all mail in accordance with the establishment procedures and policies.
Inputting handed in and sent in prisoners personal cash and ensuring that correct balances are passed to the cashier at the end of the day. Processing all local purchases and ensuring they balance.
As part of multi-functional team you will be required to perform other tasks/relief cover as specified by the Accounts Manager.

Qualifications Requirements
A minimum of 2 standard grades at Grade 3 or above which should include English and Maths/Arithmetic or equivalent qualifications or relevant experience ESSENTIAL
Experience Requirements
An understanding of general administrative duties within a busy office ESSENTIAL
Cash Handling Experience ESSENTIAL

Proficient and experienced in the use of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and Outlook ESSENTIAL
