To act as the establishment H&S Co-ordinator and advise managers and staff to enable them to fulfil their respective Health & Fire Safety responsibilities competently and in accordance with legislation and SPS Health and Fire Safety policies and  procedures.
Responsibilities
Manage local arrangement for accident and fire incident investigation and reporting in accordance with the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences (RIDDOR) 95 Regulation and SPS Policy.
Provide the Governor and Senior Management with compliance data progress relating to Health & Fire Safety to ensure the safe and legally compliant establishment operation.
Provide guidance to managers in carrying out risk assessments and suitable and sufficient safe systems of work in accordance with SPS and Health & Safety Executive (HSE) guidance.
Provide, co-ordinate and deliver Health & Fire safety training in accordance with legislative requirements and the identified needs of the establishment.
Ensure the establishment Health & Fire Safety Policy is kept up to date and any amendments are promptly brought to the attention of the H&FS committee and the Establishment on acceptance.
Co-ordinate and provide appropriate health and fire safety information to satisfy legislative requirements and to promote general awareness of health and fire safety issues.

Qualifications Requirements
NEBOSH Level 3 General Certificate and NEBOSH Fire Certificate. (Essential)
Attained or willing to work toward NEBOSH National Diploma or NVQ Level 5/6 qualification (within 18 months) . (Essential)
Experience Requirements
Competent in the use of computerised systems including Sharepoint and Microsoft Office. (Essential)
Experience of working within the field of Health and Fire Safety. (Desirable)
Knowledge Skills Requirements
Knowledge of current Health & Fire Safety legislative requirements. (Essential)
Excellent communication skills both written and oral with ability to vary style to ensure mutual understanding. (Essential)
Ability to be creative and find effective solutions to complex problems. (Essential)
Ability to assess and review information and recognise potential issues (Essential)
