15 hours - 3 Days per week – 8.30am to 1.30pm, including alternative Saturdays
To ensure the effective and efficient management of all mail items for the establishment in line with Scottish Prison Service Policy & Standard Operating Procedures.
Responsibilities
To attend the front of house area in order to collect all mail delivered (ground floor) to the establishment and transport to the designated secure area (basement). Complete administration in general office (1st Floor).
Correctly identify all mail into relevant categories i.e Prisoner Confidential Correspondence/ Prisoner General Correspondence/General Correspondence together with any damaged mail items.
Complete relevant inventory sheets and maintain accurate records for all mail processes as per standard operating procedures.
To maintain the Designated Secure Area in compliance with Health & Safety legislation.
Conduct secondary assurance screening of all mail through x-ray machine.
To comply with any other duties deemed necessary, which are commensurate with their grade. To include assistance within our canteen and local purchase process which requires some physical activity.

Qualifications Requirements
Minimum of two Standard Grades at Grade 3 or above (or equivalent), which should include English and Maths/Arithmetic or relevant experience - ESSENTIAL

Competent in the use of Microsoft packages including Excel, Word, and Outlook - ESSENTIAL
Knowledge Skills Requirements
Good communication skills at all organisational levels - ESSENTIAL
