The post holder will provide an effective and efficient tuck shop style service to the prisoner population. This will involve working within a warehouse environment preparing prisoner orders, delivering them to residential areas of the prison in all weather conditions and direct contact with prisoners. Strict timescales are essential to this service as well as adherence to the requirements of SPS Finance policies, including the accurate recording of all stock movements.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the delivery of an effective and efficient service in accordance with agreed timescales.
Collation and processing of canteen purchases using electronic point of sale (EPOS) system.  Bag, seal and tag prisoners individual canteen bags and distribute them to various areas throughout the prison (primarily Residential areas) following set procedures to stock control requirements.
Assist in the replenishment of stock, ensuring all stock rotation and stock control procedures are adhered to.
Although the main activities will take place during weekdays, given the importance of the services provided, post holders may be required to work at other times having been given reasonable notice.

The post holder should possess or be willing to work towards a qualification in the use of mechanical lifting equipment including forklift trucks.

Qualifications Requirements
A minimum of 2 Standard Grades (at Grade 3 or above), including English and Mathematics or Arithmetic, or equivalent qualifications or relevant experience - ESSENTIAL
Experience Requirements
Sound knowledge and experience of Stock Control - ESSENTIAL
Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Packages including Excel, Word, Outlook etc - ESSENTIAL
A willingness to obtain or be in possession of appropriate forklift and other relative equipment training - ESSENTIAL
Knowledge Skills Requirements
Strong numeracy skills with the ability to analyse, interpret and report on a range of information - ESSENTIAL
Ability to work on own and as part of a team, prioritising workloads to meet departmental deadlines - ESSENTIAL
Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships – ESSENTIAL

Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral - ESSENTIAL
