Forensic Psychologist in Training
SPS recruitment and selection practice is based on the fundamentals of our Behavioural Competency Framework. This identifies behaviours and standards required both of applicants seeking to join us, and our staff in their respective roles. Assessment of specific behaviours, of which there are twelve, will be determined by the role you are applying for. Whilst it is unlikely you will be assessed on all of them , you will be assessed on these identified as key to role.
Psychology Experience
Experience of working within a forensic or other relevant field of applied psychology - Desirable
Vocational Training
Working towards Chartered status of the British Psychological Society and/or registration with the Health Care Professions Council - Desriable
Understanding of the role of a Forensic Psychologist in a prison setting
Understands the work undertaken by Forensic Psychologists in prison, and of the pathway to becoming an independent practitioner - Essential
Building and Maintaining Relationships
Evidences an ability to develop, maintain and support effective working relationships - Essential
Problem Solving & Decision Making
Excellent problem solving skills and demonstrates using initiative to provide practical and creative solutions - Essential
Communication Skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across a range of media with the ability to vary your style of communication to suit the needs of the audience - Essential
